 Langley Hill Friends Meeting depends
on active committees and their members, to carry out every activity and task the Meeting community undertakes. Serving on a
committee is not only a good way to get to know others in the community and share
your gifts, but can be spiritually enriching as well. A Nominating Committee, is
tasked annually with staffing each of the other committees by contacting community members to learn their gifts, wishes, and how they can best fit into the array of the committees doing the work of the meeting. Committee membership is usually for a three-year term renewable once. Thus committees members are continually rotating from one committee to another, creating opportunities for others to
join the committee’s work and bring fresh new perspectives. In this way too,
care is taken to avoid “burn-out” of a committee’s members.
